DESIGN FOR ALL FOR NGOs AND ORGANISATIONS

NGO’s and administrations, regardless of their objectives (union, humanitarian, political, business, professional, cultural, ecological, etc.), are becoming more relevant in the social structure, and, evidently, have an important role to play regarding Design for All. In fact, these types of organisations usually promote a change in attitudes among companies and administrations.

If we analyse the objectives of the majority of NGOs, organisations representing people with disabilities and the elderly, and those of the consumers and designers, we can see that their objectives are completely compatible with the philosophy of Design for All, since respect for diversity, ethics, solidarity, sustainability and the defence of individual rights are important concepts in the framework of these organisations.

Therefore, from the point of view of the Foundation, we believe that it is necessary and imperative the backing and collaboration, by companies and organisations of the, of the “Commitment to Design for Alll” project because all business people and/or professionals, apart from taking into consideration technological innovations, economic and social fabric, should know and take into consideration the needs of their consumers and users.
